A bone-jarring tackle at the hands of Eric McBride separated the ball from an Elon receiver, resulting in a turnover that led to a Kevin Grayson touchdown reception in the second quarter of the Spiders 27-21 victory last Saturday.
The touchdown marked the first Spider score at the team’s new $25 million on-campus facility. The Spiders are playing on campus for the first time since 1929 and were welcomed by a sellout crowd that included a boisterous and packed student section.
Grayson and McBride are fifth-year seniors who are projected to be two of the outstanding performers in the CAA this season. Both are All-American candidates.
Richmond is home again this week as the Spiders welcome the Delaware Blue Hens to campus.
