A senior linebacker, McBride recently capped an incredible career with the Spiders by being named to the AFCA All-America Team. McBride started all 54 games in his career, anchoring a Richmond defense that is recognized as one of the nation’s finest. He is UR’s second all-time tackler with 446 stops. Along the way, McBride played on the 2008 National Championship team, was recognized as the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, was runner-up to Tyrod Taylor for the Dudley Award (best college player in Virginia) and is a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award (recognizing the best defensive player in FCS football).

Justin Harper

Meadowbrook High School
University of Richmond Basketball

The 6-foot-9-inch Harper is off to a great start for the 8-2 Spiders. Harper is second on the team with a near 14-point scoring average. He leads the squad with six rebounds per game. His shooting percentage ranks among the nation’s highest. Last week, Harper led the Spiders to a 72-60 win over cross-town rival VCU. He also had 14 points and eight rebounds in handing Purdue its only loss of the season.

Ru White

Hampden Sydney College Basketball

The 6-foot-5-inch junior guard transferred from Alleghany College in Maryland and has made an immediate positive impact for Sydney. White has started all eight games for the Tigers, averaging 12 points, six rebounds, and three-and-a-half assists per game. White tallied a career-high 19 points and eight boards in a recent win at Elon.
