Dogs, cats, rabbits and horses, along with their masters, were in attendance a couple of Saturdays ago of Chester Presbyterian Church’s Blessing of the Animals. All on good behavior, with greetings from one breed to another, large and small, Susan Nunnally welcomed everyone and their pets.

In a call to worship, Pastor Roger Shoup said, “God created every living creature and delights in all creation.” Along with hymns and anthems led by the children’s choir, under the direction of Barbara Hampton, there were scripture lessons and prayer. Before Shoup blessed each animal by name, he added: “We celebrate the gift that our animals are to us and for us and the gift they give. Love, affection and companionship. We care for them and they care for us.”
