It was all about spring fashion on Saturday with the presentation of the Woman’s Club of Chester’s yearly event “A Fashionable Spring.”
Before the serving of a delightful lunch of chicken salad, pasta salad, fruit salad and delectable homemade desserts, 22 new fashions for casual and dressy wear for all ages were paraded among the guests. The fashions, coordinated by Jewell Lawrence, were courtesy of Dillard’s Department Store.
Several businesses donated prizes to add to the fun of the mid-day event held at Chester Baptist Church. Pat Merson, as fashion show announcer, introduced each of the models and gave a detailed description of what they were modeling. Models included Taylor Hall, Morgan Hall, Lu Henderson, Nancy Hill, Betty Matthews, Olivia Matthews, Julie Miller, Megan Murray, Kristin Nunnally, Diane Peterson, Chloe Steiert and Scotia Synan. Additional committee members include Patsy Elliott - fashion show models; Arline McGuire - flowers; Julie Miller - door prizes; Val Miser - raffle; Gayle Murman and Jill Fischer - tickets; Mary Weber - angels; Virginia Wood - pianist and members of the Woman’s Club of Chester - food.
Proceeds from the fashion show went to benefit three scholarships: Community High School, L.C. Bird High School and Thomas Dale High School.
