The Board of Supervisors is likely to rename a portion of Meadowville Road from Rivers Bend Boulevard east, approximately 4,900 feet, to Meadowville Technology Parkway at their Wednesday meeting this week.
The Economic Development Authority requested the name change, which will replace the name Meadowville Road from just east of Kingston Avenue and continue through a traffic circle, that will eventually tie into the Meadowville Technology Park. Tying into the same traffic circle will be the remaining portion of Meadowville Road that will not be affected by the street name change.
According to the county staff report, no businesses or citizens will be affected by the name change. That section of road is current under construction as part of the Interstate 295 – Meadowville Road interchange project.
A number of leases have been reported by agents in the area indicating an upswing in commercial leasing in the area. Sheltering Arms Hospital leased 4,070 square feet at 12210 Iron Bridge Road. The building is part of a complex of buildings anchored by RX3 Pharmacy and Goodwill. Another third of the almost 12,000-square-foot office building will house the offices of Dr. Linda Brown, an HCA-affiliated physician whose specialty is obstetrics and gynecology. The medical building is being constructed by Fas Trac General Contractors, Inc., and will complete Currin & Associates’ complex just east of Chalkley Road. CB Richard Ellis is the leasing agent.
Omega Meats I, Inc. is leasing 3,600 square feet at 16027 Continental Boulevard in the Walthall Industrial Park. Grubb Ellis, Harrison & Bates leased the space to the company that is currently located on Old Stage Road in Chester.
Velocity Micro, Inc., a high-performance computer provider, has leased 34,206 square feet at 7500 Whitepine Road in the Chesterfield Airport. CB Richard Ellis is the leasing agent.
