“Getting to Know Your Young Child” is a class for parents who want to learn more about the basic needs of young children, from newborns to preschoolers. The classes will be held Wednesdays, March 17 to May 5, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Chesterfield County Mental Health Support Services, 6801 Lucy Corr Blvd. The fee is $50. “ADHD: A Parent’s Tool Kit” is a course for parents or caregivers of children with ADHD; it offers participants tools to help in raising their children. Participants will be able to talk informally with other parents about common concerns. The class will be held Wednesdays, March 3-31 and April 14, and Thursday, April 22, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Chester Library, 11800 Centre St.

“Parenting Your Young Adolescent, ‘The Jekyll and Hyde Years’” is a course for parents of early adolescents, 10-15 years old. Sessions will be held Tuesdays, March 23 to May 11, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Robious Middle School, 2701 Robious Crossing Road. The fee is $55. To sign up, call instructor Lee Archard, at 717-6404.
“Improving Your Child’s Behavior” is a class for parents of elementary-school-aged children; it will focus on the following topics: effective behavior management, appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, skill building and effective communication.
