Road improvements, lots sold, rezoning

The Wellington Farm development of Chalkley Road has a new builder. Main Street Homes is now building on several lots there and lists the neighbor as one of its many locations for new homes. Some residents are concerned that with Main Street touting homes starting in the $280s, it could decrease their home value.

Cascade Creek Homes, Inc. has been interested in rezoning 12.5 acres located in the northeast corner of the intersection of Cogbill Road and Five Forks Lane just west of Belmont Road.  The company is looking for C-2 zoning which would allow for retail uses. County staff suggests an analysis of the county airport expansion plan among other issues. The case was up for consideration on April 19 at the Planning Commission. Staff has recommended deferring the case until October.

The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisor has authorized two road improvement projects. Road cash proffers in the amount of $63,000 will fund right turn lane on Nash Road at its intersection with Beach Road. The county will spend up to $214,000 of cash proffer funds to extend the right turn lane on Chester Road at Route 10. Both projects have to be designed, approved by VDOT and bids taken before construction can begin.

Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer  reports that Chesterfield Business Alliance has leased 1,427 square feet in the Centre Court building at 9401 Courthouse Road.
