Police investigate weekend homicide

Thirteen-year-old Devin Rashad Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene in a shooting on Timsberry Terrace over the weekend. Another victim, 17, was also shot but his injuries are non-life threatening. He was hospitalized at Chippenham Medical Center.

Police say the motive will not be released until the suspects are arrested, but they do know the identiy of the alleged shooter and his sidekick.

Warrants for Homicide, Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony have been obtained for William Timothy Walker, of the 3300 Block of Sylvania Road, Chesterfield. Walker is a black male, 21 years-old, 5 ft. 7 in. tall and weighs approx. 150 lbs.

An Accessory after the Fact warrant has also been obtained for Jermon Rasheem Woodson- Jones. Jones is a black male, 21 years-old, 6 ft. 1 in. tall and weighs approx. 215 lbs.  Police are currently seeking both Walker and Jones. The suspects, according to police, do not live in the Broadwater complex.

There have been calls for gunshots at the Broadwater Apartment community which is adjacent to Timsberry Terrace but police say no one has been hurt and that the gun shots that have been reported are not related. Local church groups have been involved with outreach programs at the apartment complex recently and are working to bring the community closer together. Last week, during spring break from school, a special outreach program kept kids busy during their vacation. The shooting was on Saturday.
