The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to solve a string of thefts from coin-operated machines.
Between April 11 and April 22, Chesterfield Police officers documented 11 incidents throughout the county in which coin-operated vending machines were broken into. In each case, the coin and bill collection slots were pried open. Money was obtained from some of the machines, but not all of them.
Two of the most recent thefts occurred on Friday, April 22, at the Sleep Inn, 6451 Bayside Lane, and the Holiday Inn Express, 5030 West Village Green Drive. Surveillance footage from the Holiday Inn Express captured images of a suspect. He is a white male who appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He has a heavy or stocky build and a small mustache. He wore a black jacket with a thin stripe down each sleeve, gray pants and a dark ball cap. He was carrying a large, dark backpack on his shoulders.
