In a recent regional competition, Chesterfield school bus drivers won four of the top six awards and brought home the Director’s Cup as the top school division. Chesterfield County Public Schools has won the Director’s Cup 12 times since the competition began in 1981, including six of the past eight years.
Each year, bus drivers from the public schools of Chesterfield, Richmond, Henrico and Hanover compete in a road-e-o. This year, Chesterfield’s Jessica Henry won first place and Marion Trent took second place; Leslie Alderman won second place, and Ruth Harrup took third place in various catagories. All four drivers will compete at the statewide school bus road-e-o on June 23 at Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk.
