Chester resident earns Eagle Scout award

Chester resident Bailey Galstan earned his Eagle Scout award on Sunday, June 5, 2011 – the highest award in the Boy Scouts of America – at a ceremony at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Chester. Bailey is a member of Troop 819, one of the oldest Troops in Chesterfield County. His Eagle project consisted of building a foot bridge that connected two existing bridges at the Chester Family YMCA. Bailey is 14 years old and is a student at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, where he recently completed the ninth grade. Bailey is the son of Chester residents Dr. Samuel Galstan and Dr. C. Sharone Ward. Troop 819 meets on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout Cabin, located at the intersection of Dodomeade Street and Railroad Avenue near St. John’s Church in Chester.
