Coyner announces bid for School Board

Carrie E. Coyner is running for the Bermuda District School Board seat.  She is a mother, wife, attorney, entrepreneur, and small business owner, and she hopes to earn your vote to be “the voice for the next generation.”

As a member of the Chesterfield County School Board, Coyner will combine her first-hand perspective and experience as a leader serving within our county in addition to her professional background as an attorney to be an advocate for the children in the Chesterfield County public schools.

As a mom of three children and a leader serving in our community, Coyner has had the opportunity to understand our schools’ challenges from various vantage points. She interacts with parents regularly and listens to their concerns about their children’s academics, health and safety. As a Director of the Chesterfield County Chamber of Commerce, Coyner collaborates with business leaders to find new ways to work with schools to provide resources.  As a volunteer, she has worked with many children in our community through family nights, camps, and other programs.

She is the owner of Rudy, Coyner & Associates, Attorneys at Law, located in Chesterfield. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in U.S. Government and Spanish Language.  Coyner earned her juris doctorate from the University of Richmond where she was inducted into the McNeill Law Honors Society.

Coyner has served on the Board of Management for the Chester YMCA, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee for Chesterfield County (2010-2011), as well as numerous other boards and committees, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chesterfield County Chamber of Commerce.

Coyner is married to Matthew Coyner.  Their children are Hayden, Mason, and Delaney.

I was trying to understand what, if any relationship, the firm has or had with Oliver T Rudy. It's not apparent at the firm's website. For me, anyone who who would willingly associate themselves with Mr Rudy would not earn my vote.

Based on the credentials listed here, seems she's better-suited for a run as Supervisor than School Board.
