Man steals wallet from gas station

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to identify a wallet thief.

On Wednesday, June 22, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a female customer dropped her wallet near a fuel pump at Sheetz, 2053 Huguenot Road in Chesterfield. A nearby male customer picked it up, but instead of returning it to her, he took the wallet and put it into his car. Video surveillance footage then shows him taking something out of the wallet while at the pump. He walked inside the store, paid for his gas with cash, likely taken from the wallet, and left the area in his car.

The suspect is a black male in his late 40s or early 50s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin mustache and beard. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, denim jeans, and sunglasses with brown lenses and a blue ball cap with gold lettering. He was driving a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.
