The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to identify and locate suspects involved in an ATM theft.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 8, Chesterfield officers responded to an alarm call at the BB&T Bank located at 5756 Hopkins Road. When officers arrived, they quickly discovered that someone had ripped the front panel from the ATM and taken money from inside.
There were at least two people involved in the theft. One suspect is described as wearing dark clothing, a dark mask and a dark-colored baseball hat. The van used in the crime was stolen, and the thieves abandoned the van shortly after the ATM theft.
Pictures from the ATM dramatically depict the event, and they can be seen in the Crime of the Week section of crimesolvers.net.
