Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. As I write this it is Thanksgiving weekend so I guess it is time for some leftovers…a little of this and a little of that. As I have mentioned before my checkbook leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to keeping the balances straight, and I had another round last week. I am usually satisfied with my balances being close; you know..$20 plus or minus is fine because I know next month the odds are in favor of the numbers changing again..but this time I was off… a lot. This time the “off” was in my favor but it still stresses me as to if it is real or something that will disappear on the next month’s report. I finally got down to going through my checkbook and I found not one, not two, but three big mistakes….unbelievable… and a bit scary that my math skills are losing their touch. I am not that old. LOL Then yesterday I went to work and I could not get into my office because my keys had fallen off my key ring. Now this can be a rather serious matter since I have a Master key and if it gets lost they will have to go to great expense and effort to change all the locks and produce new Master keys for the office staff. I was pretty sure I had lost it in my car or at home…but as luck had it …I found it in the parking lot right next to where I got out of my car. Whew! Now bear in mind this is all on top of me losing my wallet last week which [fortunately], was found at the gym by a fellow worker. I am not sure where this trend is heading but it certainly keeps me on my toes. LOL
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.” Oscar Wilde
A school teacher sends this note to all parents on the first day of school: “If you promise not to believe everything your child says happens at school, I’ll promise not to believe everything he says happens at home.”
Never take someone for granted
Hold every person close to your heart
Because you might wake up one day
And realize that you’ve lost a diamond
While you were too busy collecting stones.
Time to go and hit the stores. As always be good, play safe, and remember it is your job to keep the economy wheels turning.
