A true scholar athlete, the 5-foot-5-inch point guard averaged just over 20 minutes of playing time as a Wildcat freshman. Barbara ranked second on her team in both steals and assists. She tallied just under four points and four rebounds per game.

RUTHANNE DOHERTY

University of Hartford Basketball

A 5-foot-11-inch freshman, Ruthanne helped lead the Hartford Hawks into this year’s NCAA Division-I basketball tournament. Doherty averaged six points and five rebounds per game as she eventually broke into the Hawks starting line-up. Hartford entered the tournament as one of the nation’s hottest teams, with a 20-game win streak. Also an honor student, Ruthanne is enrolled in the college of engineering.

JALISSA TAYLOR
2007 Graduate of L.C. Bird
James Madison University Basketball

A 6-foot-3-inch junior, Jalissa helped lead JMU to its first CAA title since 1989. A finance major, Taylor is also a conference all-academic selection. In a January outing against George Mason, she led her team in both scoring and rebounds. Starting 26 games, she has averaged nearly six points and seven rebounds for the 26-6 Dukes.
