On February 12th, she pitched a five inning no-hitter and became the first freshman to accomplish the feat for the Seminoles since 2007. Florida State won the game 8-0 and defeated Ole Miss. Thus far, Waldrop has a 3-0 record this season and has been a significant part of Florida State’s 8-0 start this season. Her most recent victory came against North Dakota State, a team that has enjoyed recent playoff success. As of press time, Florida State was ranked 19th nationally.

“Well it looks like she is starting off like she did in high school,” says her father Chuck Waldrop. Like in college, Waldrop began high school pitching no-hitters.

Waldrop, as of press time sported a 1.35 ERA and leads the team in innings pitched. Opponents bat just .151 against her. You can follow Waldrop and Florida State by going to www.seminoles.com hovering over ‘sports’ and selecting softball. You can also follow @fsusoftball on twitter.

Waldrop is the daughter of Chuck and Beth Waldrop of South Chesterfield and the granddaughter of Marvin and Kitty Waldrop of Bensley.
