The annual plan for special education in Chesterfield County Public Schools was made available for review on April 18 in the Parent-Teacher Resource Center of the Fulghum Center, 4003 Cogbill Road.
The plan is required by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 and must be approved before state and federal funds are passed through to local school systems. The annual plan for special education is an agreement between each local school system and the Virginia Department of Education for providing special education services to children with disabilities.
Submitted annually to the Chesterfield County School Board for review and approval, the plan is scheduled to come before the School Board during its 7 p.m. meeting on May 8 in the Public Meeting Room, 10001 Iron Bridge Road. Before the May 8 meeting, the annual plan for special education will be posted on the school system’s website, mychesterfieldschools.com.
