Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. I had the opportunity to do some traveling for my company which required that I stay overnight at a hotel. It was Sunday night and there was only one show I really wanted to catch and that was Celebrity Apprentice. I found the right channel but there was a slight problem…there was no sound. All of the other channels worked fine but for some reason this one was on the “silence is golden” channel. Well, that did not make me very happy, but just out of curiosity I tried the enclosed caption button. What do you know? There was no sound but the caption worked fine. Made for some tough viewing since I could not look away for even a second but I was able to get my Apprentice fix before turning in for the night. That made for some sound sleeping…too sound I guess, since I either did not hear the wake-up call or there was no wake-up call to hear [maybe it was in “caption”??] There is nothing better to make you instantly wake up than the thought you overslept and will be late for your meeting. It’s amazing how fast you can move in the morning when you are properly motivated.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“Some people talk in their sleep. Lecturers talk while other people sleep”. Albert Camus
Some young children were sitting in a circle with their teacher. She was going around in turn asking them all questions. “Davy, what noise does a cow make?” “It goes ‘moo.’” “Alice, what noise does a cat make?”It goes ‘meow.’” “Jamie, what sound does a lamb make?” “It goes ‘baaa.’” “Jennifer, what sound does a mouse make?” “Errr..., it goes... ‘click!’”
A guy traveling through the prairies of the USA stopped at a small town and went to the local cafe. He sat at the end of the counter, ordered a Coke, and lit up a cigar. As he sipped his drink, he was quietly blowing smoke rings. After he blew nine or ten smoke rings into the air, an angry American Indian stomped up to him and said, “One more remark like that and I’ll bust you in the mouth!”
I think that is enough to satisfy the Master. As always be good, play safe and remember it would be nice if some folks were enabled with “enclosed captions.”
