Ms. Karmeshia Tuck crowned 2012-2013 Miss VSU

Ms. Karmeshia Tuck has been crowned 2012-2013 Miss Virginia State University.  Ms. Tuck, a rising senior and honors student from Roxboro, N.C., is a computer information systems major and 2009 graduate of Person High School.  She is a fall 2011 initiate of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and member of the Betterment of Brothers and Sisters, National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Information Technology Advisory Board and Student Leaders. Ms. Tuck was the 2010-2011 Miss Sophomore and 2011-2012 Miss Junior.

“Becoming Miss Virginia State University will afford me the opportunity to show young girls that, even if they come from a small town, there are opportunities to accomplish big things,” she said. “I want young ladies to understand every aspect of being a woman is beautiful.  We have to mold ourselves into amplifiers of success and prove that we can do anything, while keeping God first.”

Ms. Tuck is the daughter of Mr. Perry Lawson and Mrs. Deborah Pettiford Carver.
