Thomas Dale junior Lacey Waldrop proved she was not fooling in firing a perfect game on April 1 versus visiting Hopewell. She followed that up with more domination, leading the Knights to a championship in the Colonial Heights Holiday Tournament last week. Tournament entries included some of the better teams in the Central Region, and the championship elevated coach Dennis Jones’ team to the top of the class in area softball.

Besides being blessed with one of the finest hurlers in the region, the Knights are displaying great defense, timely hitting and aggressive base running in putting together a perfect start. As district play continues, games with Matoaca, Colonial Heights and Prince George should provide challenges for Dale.
