Signs of the times

All of the requests for changing particular restrictions or rezoning a property must be reviewed by Chesterfield’s planning staff as well as the Planning Commission (PC) and lastly the Board of Supervisors (BOS). The following are requests for these changes to be reviewed this month. On site they are identified by a sign with a three-digit number. All PC cases will be heard on September 18 and BOS cases on September 19.

In Matoaca District, on Branders Bridges Road, near Birdbrook Drive, James and Hazel Miles are requesting conditional use (CU, changing only part of their zoning) to permit a boat motor repair business on their Agriculturally zoned land.

In Bermuda District, at 11912 Warfield Est. Dr., off Osborne Road, Kat A. Bonilla is requesting CU approval to permit a family daycare on a Residential lot.

In Bermuda District, at 2520 West Hundred Rd., Holiday Signs asking for a CU to allow for a change in the Wendy’s signage.

In Dale District, located at 10226 Iron Bridge Rd., Myers Family Partnership, LP is requesting from the BOS an exception to encroach on a Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act and Resource Protection to allow for a road crossing and a storm water management system.

In Bermuda District, on Station Road, off Jefferson Davis Highway, Parks and Recreation is requesting permission from the PC to create a special park focusing on trails and historical features. It will lie across a number of different zonings.

In Bermuda District, at the corner of Meadowville and Enon Church roads, Twin Rivers, LLC is requesting an elimination of all cash proffers, (approx. $18,000 per unit) on 67.7 acres intended for a variety of uses.

In Matoaca District, at the corner of Spring Run and Beach roads, John and Kimberly Hughes are requesting from the BOS a CU to permit a fast-food restaurant and paving on 6.7 acres on Agriculturally zoned land. They currently sell ice cream at the historic structure.

In Matoaca District, off River Road, about a quarter-of-a-mile west of Bundle Road, Richmond 20 MHZ LLC is asking the BOS to allow a cell tower on 2.8 acres zoned Agricultural.

In Bermuda District, at 1306 Bellwood Rd., Stericycle requests that the BOS approve their request to permit additional storage trailers and relief from refrigeration requirements on their 1.4 acre site in a Heavy Industrial area.
