Local nurse provides care aboard Project HOPE

Cathy Blaire-Perrine, a nurse from Chester who works at Chippenham Hospital, recently completed a volunteer medical mission with Project HOPE and the U.S. Navy in the West African countries of Liberia and Ghana. The mission is called Africa Partnership Station 2012. Blaire-Perrine provided free medical care and medical training to hundreds of people in those countries while the U.S. Navy partook in training exercises with the African countries’ militaries for disaster preparedness and other civic projects, while staying aboard a U.S. Navy vessel called the HSV-2 throughout her time there.
