Galstan earns Eagle Scout Award

Berkeley Dale Ward Galstan of Chester, earned his Eagle Scout Award, the highest award in the Boy Scouts of America, on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at a ceremony at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Chester.

Berkeley is a member of Troop 819 of Chester, one of the oldest troops in Chesterfield County.  His Eagle project consisted of repairing a dock located on a pond behind the Chester Family Y.M.C.A..

Berkeley is 13-years-old and is a student at The Steward School in Richmond, where he is in the eighth grade.  He is the son of Dr. Samuel Galstan and Dr. C. Sharone Ward of Chester, and is the grandson of Diane Smith Ward of Charles City, Va., formerly of Hopewell, and Fay Galstan of Burke, Va.  Berkeley’s brother Bailey and father are also Eagle Scouts.
