Chesterfield firefighters to receive Valor Awards

The Retail Merchants Association, or RMA held its 23rd Annual Valor Awards Breakfast and Ceremony on Friday Oct. 5, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

RMA produces the annual Valor Awards as a way for the business community to recognize area law-enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency-service personnel who have gone above and beyond the call of duty when serving their communities.

First responders are nominated from the city of Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Powhatan, and the town of Ashland. Area law-enforcement and fire chiefs will present the awards.

Chesterfield Fire and EMS is proud to announce that four of its members will each receive The Bronze Valor Award.  Capt. Gerald Pruden, Lt. Joel Britt, Lt. Bryce Ford and Firefighter Gene Ledlie were called into heroic action.
