Skyhawks win first Conference 12 title

Coming into the season as a favorite to make a run into the state tournament, the L.C. Bird Skyhawks had several chores to get done first. Winning the first ever Conference 12 tournament was one of those tasks. Bird defeated a surprising Prince George squad 75-57.

Warriors conquer regionals

Matoaca Wrestling is your 5A South Region Champions, coming from behind on day one to surpass Kellam and Princess Anne High Schools en route to the regional championship. The Warriors edged Princess Anne for first by a count of 176.5- 172.5. Great Bridge finished third with 163 points.

Matoaca Middle wins championship

Matoaca Middle School basketball team just completed an undefeated season. Matoaca punctuated their run through the playoffs by defeating Falling Creek Middle School in the county championship at James River, 77-59.

Bensley is the oldest settled community in Chester. Lying in the Meadowbrook High School district, Bensley is a quickly growing area of the county where there has been a need for a heightened sense of community.
