Dale Harriers return to the top of Central District

2010 was an anomaly in Central District cross country. For the first time in memory, the name Thomas Dale did not appear at the top of the league standings as Matoaca put together their finest season, edging out the Knights for district superiority.

A benefit game was held at the L.C. Bird High School Sports Complex Sunday, Oct. 23, for The Miracle League of Richmond, where the King of Diamonds – an entertaining four-man softball exhibition team – competed against a group of local celebrities.

Skyhawks win Dominion District, Johnson sets school records

Skyhawks are used to must win situations. In fact, after a week three loss to Dominion District foe Manchester, Bird needed to win out to make the playoffs. They did just that, winning their seventh straight game and bowling over Clover Hill, dispatching the Cavaliers 56-7.
