Monarchs looking to make a run in district tournament

In what most would call a one horse race, there are still six teams playing meaningful basketball for seeding in next week’s Central District Tournament. Two of those teams, Meadowbrook and Thomas Dale have been chasing juggernaut Petersburg all season long, helping to develop a rivalry along the way.

Knights’ team effort pushes them past Blue Devils

The Thomas Dale Knights were looking for one thing last Friday night when they traveled to Central District rival Hopewell, and that was to avenge the loss they were dealt on their home floor back on December 2nd. The Knights jumped out to an early lead, and never lost it as they defeated Hopewell by a count of 88-77.

Area resident introduces kids to hockey on the roller rink in Chester

While roller hockey may not be at the epicenter of American sports, but where it’s alive, it’s healthy and going strong. County resident Howard Moss is out to put Chester on the roller hockey map. Moss played roller hockey most of his life and participated in hockey programs that Chester Skateland had in the early 90s.

Young football player plays in National All-American Bowl

During the holiday break, Christopher “C.J.” George, Jr, age 9, of Chesterfield joined dozens of peers of his age group nationwide for the 3rd annual Offense-Defense Youth All-American Bowl held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
