Matoaca alum Sam Gunther has already had an excellent career running at Bridgewater College, but for his senior year, he naturally, wanted to go out with a bang. Mission accomplished. Dogpound still searching for a center

0

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound where things just continue to spin out of control. First off, before I forget, Happy Mother’s Day… Belated, but I finally remembered, and I was doing so great staying current with the holidays. Anyway, last week I was telling the story of the missing bolt and how I was kind of feeling off-center the whole week; well, things just continue to drop and I do mean “literally” drop. I was eating some Fritos last night and I suddenly felt this hard thing in my mouth. A crown had broken…

The Yellow House

0

Think nearly 150 years ago and it is May in the little Village of Chester. A fierce battle is raging outside a little yellow house known simply then as the Winfree House. The woman who lives there approaches Colonel William Fowler of the Union troops with a fierce glare in her eyes, walked to the lane fence and, in a tone of voice indicating she was both angry and excited, ordered him to take the guns away; and tells him to leave. The sound and blasts from the cannon are breaking the glass panes in the windows of her home.…
