0This week, Crime Solvers is traveling back to Oct. 16, 2015, to review an unsolved bank robbery. Shortly before 4 p.m. on Oct. 16, a man entered the Village Bank at 1120 Huguenot Road. He nervously approached the teller, handed her a bag and note and whispered that he wanted cash. The teller complied with the thief’s request. 0I know of three fires, in single-family dwellings with attached garages that have resulted in fatalities, in Chesterfield County alone. The fires that I am thinking about have spanned a number of years, the most recent was a few Sundays ago, but all had devastating results. Each one of these fires was horrific to the families that lost loved ones. I will not speak of any one of these fires as being worse than any other. Harrowgate Rd. sidewalk
0The Board of Supervisors last week approved a request to construct another section of sidewalk along the east side of Harrowgate Road. (Curtis Street to Hyde Park Drive). The sidewalk project will be paid for by an appropriation of $400,000 in anticipated Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reimbursements to the Chesterfield Department of Transportation (CDOT) and $100,000 from the General Road Improvement Account. “I have been working with CDOT to have sidewalks put in throughout the Bermuda district especially roads such as Harrowgate, where there are a large number of residential neighborhoods,” said Bermuda District Supervisor Dorothy Jaeckle. “Barbara Smith in…
