Chesterfield County is not only a great place to live, work and play – it’s a great place to visit.

And now, finding must-see attractions to visit is easy using Experience Chesterfield, a new online initiative for county residents and visitors.

The itineraries focus on history, family fun and outdoor adventure, and the recently added Experience Chesterfield in Autumn highlights some of the best places to see colorful fall foliage, pick pumpkins or take a crisp afternoon hike in the county.

“Chesterfield County is a gem in the metro Richmond area,” Susan Pollard, communications and media director, said. “Experience Chesterfield is not only a set of itineraries; it is a mindset that celebrates all the unique attractions the county has to offer.”

The history itinerary covers everything from Henricus, which was the second permanent English Settlement of the New World, to the first coal mines of Midlothian, to the Victorian charm of historic Bon Air. The family fun itinerary features something to do for the whole family, including a trip to the region’s only zoo, Metro Richmond Zoo, the county’s Rockwood Nature Center and suggestions for playing disc golf at Goyne Park. Outdoor enthusiasts will feel right at home at sites featured on the outdoor adventure itinerary, which highlights great places for biking, running, walking, fishing and boating in the county.
