Second Baptist Church, is sponsoring a community event on Saturday, Nov. 12, “Service for a Day – Outreach & Evangelism.”
Youth, young adults, adults, and seniors are invited to join the Second Baptist Church Women’s Ministry by getting involved and volunteering.
The areas they are focusing on for Outreach and Evangelism are:
Nov. 12, volunteers will be assisting at the Chesterfield Food Bank located at 12211 Iron Bridge Road in Chester.
On Nov.12 “Day of Service,” the following events will take place at Second Baptist Church:
1) A representative from the Agency on Aging will speak at 9 a.m.
2) FREE Hands ONLY CPR training and blood pressure checks from 9 a.m. until noon.
3) Volunteers will be departing Second Baptist Church at 7:15 a.m. to assist at the Reams Elementary Food Bank in Chesterfield.
4) Volunteers will depart for Lucy Corr Nursing Facility at 10 a.m. to fellowship with their citizens from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
5) Beginning at 11a.m. to1 p.m. volunteers (primarily youth) will assist with assembling and packing “Whispering Kits” with donated travel size toiletries to benefit Salem Church, Ettrick, and Chalkley Elementary schools.
During the month of November, the church is collecting donations of food to benefit the Chesterfield Food Bank, “Operation Build a Pantry” for hungry students at Harrowgate Elementary School, and Weekend Backpacks for Kids in Chesterfield County Public Schools.
They are also collecting travel size toiletries and child size underwear and T-Shirts for needy Chesterfield students for the “Whispering Kits.”
The scripture of unity for Outreach and Evangelism is Galatians 6:9-10: And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
The church has this to add, “Our strength together can conquer anything… and let’s have fun in our own backyard!”
