Building a walking, safe community

A sidewalk is being added to Ecoff Avenue along with upgrades that will make it more pedestrian friendly and safer for drivers. There will be an informal meeting but no formal presentation draft plans will be available for review and staff will be on hand to field questions. The Citizen Information Meeting will take place Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at Ecoff Elementary School.
The Chesterfield transportation department has developed 60 percent of the plans and scheduled the meeting.

They evaluated various typical sections and determined the least disrupted was to construct sidewalk with curb and gutter on the south side from Ivywood Road to just west of the western school entrance and on the north side from that entrance to Ken Drive. The project includes minor widening of the travel lanes from ten feet to 11 and constructing a two-foot paved shoulder on the non-sidewalk side of the road. Two stormwater basins are on the project, and the department will be improving two vertical curves within the corridor. Chesterfield transportation has been meeting with impacted property owners and received good feedback about the project.

The concept graphic shows the sidewalk switching from the south side to the north side of the road where the crosswalk is shown. The crosswalk has since been moved to just west of that entrance, but this gives a sense of the overall project.
The general schedule is as follows: Engineering, is on-going; Right of Way and Utilities, Spring 2018 and Construction, Spring 2019.
