Police release identities of suspects charged in unlawful entry, larceny, shooting

CHESTERFIELD – Police have released the identities of two men charged in relation to a larceny from an auto and subsequent shooting that occurred in the 5700 block of Willowbranch Drive at about 10:40 p.m. Aug. 6.

Police were called there for a report that multiple shots had been fired. When police arrived, a man said he had just confronted two men who had entered a vehicle on his property. The man said he had chased the two men and fired his handgun while in pursuit. One of the rounds struck a home in the 7400 block of Summertree Drive, but no one was injured, a press release states.

Further investigation indicated that only one of the two men had entered vehicles in the neighborhood. That man, Yamil G. Perez, 18, of the 5200 block of Appleleaf Court, was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful entry of a vehicle and one count of petit larceny.

Police obtained and served a releasable warrant for DaJohn L. Williams, 24, of the 5700 block of Willowbranch Drive, for reckless handling of a firearm.
