Local is state skeet shooting champion

Chesterfield County native Wayne Kidd recently won the 2010 Virginia State Skeet Championships, according to information from Kim Kidd. The championship was held last month in Chase City, Va.

Local softball team wins championship

Sandlot Softball, a team composed mainly of L. C. Bird High School graduates, recently won the SSAA E World Championships in Fayetville, N.C., according to information from John Herrin.

Local dealership donates money, equipment to area little leagues

Heritage Chevrolet - Chester, one of seven area Chevrolet dealers that partnered with local youth baseball leagues for the 2010 baseball season, raised nearly $23,100 in donations from the dealership and private parties, according to a press release from the business.
