Police Seek Robbery Suspect

Police are searching for a man who robbed the Circle K at 2117 Willis Road around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 30.

Police said the suspect entered the business, approached the clerk and demanded cash. After receiving cash, the suspect fled on foot. No weapon was displayed during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, about five feet seven inches tall with a dark complexion. He was wearing jeans, a black sweatshirt, a black skull cap and a light blue cloth covering his face. He had a deep voice.

Inmate Death Under Investigation

Correy Lee Davis, an inmate at the Chesterfield County Jail, was found hanging Saturday afternoon during a security check by a deputy. Davis was in a single-inmate cell. Deputies quickly cut Davis down and administered CPR until jail medical staff arrived and attempted to resuscitate him. Chesterfield EMS responded and transported Davis to CJW Medical Center, Chippenham Campus, where he succumbed. As is protocol, Chesterfield Police investigated the matter.  Davis was being held without bond on several Chesterfield and Henrico County drug-related charges.

Police Investigate Shooting Incident

Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11. One victim received non-life threatening injuries.

Police were dispatched to the 6700 block of West Road for a report of shots fired. As officers were responding, the Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls reporting shots fired in the area of Rollingwood Apartments and Stevens Hollow Drive.

Officers located an adult male victim who was struck by a bullet as he was driving on Sexton Drive between Kim Drive and Stevens Hollow Drive. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Chippenham Hospital by a relative.

Residents in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots. Two residences in the 6400 block of Sexton Drive were struck by bullets. No one inside either home was injured.
