While elected Constitution officers have no opposition in the November 3 election, other candidates that reach a wider constituency are being opposed. (See last week’s Village News)
After losing in this year’s June primary, Sen. Steve Martin will not be on the ticket next month. His seat (11th State Senate district) will be pursued by Republican nominee Amanda Chase and Democratic nominee E. “Wayne” Powell.
Senator Rosalyn R. Dance, (11th State Senate district) is running unopposed. Independent Joseph D. Morrissey, dropped out of the race, although his name will continue to be on the ballot.
Delegates running for the State House of Delegates in the Village News readership area include:
Incumbent, Republican Del. Riley Edward Ingram, (62nd Del. District) is challenged by Democrat Sheila C. Bynum.
Democratic nominee Lashrecse D. Aird is running unopposed (63rd Del.District).
Republican M. Kirkland “Kirk” Cox is also running unopposed (66th Del. District).
Del. Roxann L. Robinson, R-Chesterfield, has a Democratic challenger for the first time since 2010. Her opponent is Marty Mooradian (27th Del. District). Democrat Delores L. McQuinn is running unopposed (70th Del.District).
