Police Arrest Robbery Suspects

Police have arrested two suspects in relation to a robbery that occurred at the Circle K at 11800 Ivey Mill Rd. at about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Police said a man, who was armed with a handgun, entered the business and demanded money, cigarettes and lottery tickets. After receiving the items, the suspect fled. No one was injured in the robbery.

At about 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 30, a blue sedan containing a man and a woman entered the parking lot of the Wawa at 11021 Iron Bridge Rd. A few minutes later, the woman from the vehicle entered the store and cashed several lottery tickets that were stolen from the Circle K. At one point, the man also entered the store.

On Jan. 5, police released surveillance photos of the woman and the man who was with her. Tips from the public helped detectives identify the pair as Sarah M. Smith, 28, and Terrell Tarver, 37.

Tarver, of the 11400 block of Corte Castle Road in Chesterfield, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the robbery. Tarver was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and is being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.

Smith, of the 2400 block of Flint Street in Richmond, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, receiving stolen goods and obtaining money by false pretenses in relation to the robbery and cashing of the lottery tickets. Smith was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 7, and is being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
