Chesterfield County names Kiva Rogers as its new director of the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Social Services Department. Rogers, a 15-year member of the Social Services team and current assistant director for family services, will assume the lead role Feb. 1.
“We are very fortunate to have Kiva Rogers, who has come up through department ranks, be selected as the new Director for Social Services,” Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Social Services Board Chairman J. In her new role, Rogers, a licensed clinical social worker, will administer the social services programs for both Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights, including family services and benefit programs. She will be actively involved in all aspects of the planning, organizing and managing of social services activities, personnel and budget for programs. Additionally, she will assess community needs and develop programs to meet those needs while identifying new resources and partnerships.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as the director of the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services,” Rogers said. “I consider it an honor and a great responsibility to lead a department charged with meeting the needs of our most vulnerable citizens. I look forward to working with staff and the community in my new role as we strive to achieve the department’s vision to be the leader in providing exceptional and innovative social services.”
