On Monday, Nov. 21, it was discovered that a skimming device was placed on the ATM at Argent Credit Union’s Chester location at 11900 Chester Village Drive. Any cards used at that ATM Nov. 12 or 13 could be vulnerable and may be at risk for fraudulent activity. The personal information that could be at risk includes: member name, card number, expiration date, and personal identification number.

Letters will be going out to all affected members stating that their compromised cards will be blocked. The credit union will also replace their check immediately of any suspicious transactions. The credit union will also replace their Check Cards, and any losses related to fraud will be restored.

Argent recommends that member change their current Check Card PINS. Contact all businesses that automatically draft their account and provide them with the new card information once they have received it.

Argent Credit Union is working diligently to resolve this issue.

For non-credit union members who used the Argent Credit Union Chester ATM on these dates, it would be prudent to contact your financial institution as soon as possible to report that your card may be compromised and to determine if fraudulent activity has occurred.
