A county school bus and a tractor-trailer collided at Old Bermuda Hundred and Golf Course roads at 9:16 a.m. Sept. 19.
“Seventy juveniles were on board the bus,” Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Jason Elmore said. “Two were transported for injuries.” The vehicles had moderate damage.
“The driver of the tractor-trailer was charged with failure to yield right-of-way,” police spokeswoman Liz Caroon said.
Police have not released the name of the truck driver.
Daycare bus struck
Around 8:30 a.m. Sept. 19, a daycare bus and a vehicle collided on Jefferson Davis Highway at Moore’s Lake Road.
Officials said the vehicle was making an illegal U-turn.
“Nine juveniles were injured. All were treated on scene and released to parents at the scene,” Caroon said.
A summons for reckless driving was issued to the driver who made the illegal U-turn. The driver’s name has not been released.
