The Chesterfield County police is excited to announce that the Bensley subdivision has become the third Chesterfield neighborhood to safeguard its property using SmartWater CSI.

Bensley joins the Bayhill Pointe and Mason Woods subdivisions, which in 2018 became the first two areas in Chesterfield to embrace this technology.

SmartWater CSI is a colorless liquid that contains a unique code that is registered to a particular user. The liquid is invisible to the naked eye and is can be seen only under a unique light available to law enforcement through the provider.

Chesterfield County Police are researching various ways to covertly use the liquid. Covert delivery systems would invisibly mark criminals who have committed crimes such as larceny from auto, burglary, and trespassing throughout the county.

SmartWater CSI marks your property for a minimum of five years. If you would like to work with the Chesterfield County police to bring this product to your neighborhood, please contact the Community Services Division at (804) 318-8699.
