Chesterfield County annual Veterans Day ceremony

Chesterfield – The Chesterfield County Annual Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony, sponsored by Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV), will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Chesterfield County Historic 1917 Courthouse Green, 10011 Iron Bridge Rd., Chesterfield.

You do not have to be a veteran to celebrate Veterans Day. Come join CHSV and honor those who have served us. Music will be performed by the Thomas Dale High School band and the L.C. Bird High School chorus.

Francis Gary Powers, Jr., founder and chairman emeritus of the Cold War Museum, will be the guest speaker at the event. There will be a fly-over of a North American T-28 “Trojan” courtesy of the Warbird Museum of VA. DMV Veterans ID cards will be issued at no charge, courtesy of the Jeffrey A. Reed Memorial Fund. Requirements are: be a Virginia resident; hold an unexpired Virginia License/Learner’s permit or identification card; and hold a copy of DD form 214, DD form 256, or a WD AGO form.
