Hello and welcome back to the concerned world of the Dogpound. Max had another bad spell, and I had to take him in to the vet for a full exam.  The good news is that he has no cancer or tumors, just a very bad case of arthritis in his hips and his sternum. He was able to do some walking once he was up on all fours, but now that ability has gone and I have to help move him every step of the way.  I put a towel under his hips and lift him up while he walks…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  As I have stated in past articles, Max has very bad arthritis and has recently been diagnosed with blood pressure and heart issues, as well.  So the number of meds he is on has tripled.  I only mention this since I believe they have had an impact on his recent change in behavior.  Max, for a long time, has slept on the far side of my bed on a big, super soft mattress, which in my opinion would be great for his sore hips, however, he has recently decided…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound social media.  I must say I am really thrilled to announce that my Dogpound twitter account is growing by leaps and bounds.  I now have over 1,500 faithful pack members who receive the regular morning joke, and are able to follow the daily antics of their beloved dog Max and the adventures of his handsome Master – me.  Now some of you could care less about my Twittering…you are not on Twitter or Instagram…or anything else.  However, there are a number of you that do use these social media…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. I am pretty proud of myself right now; I have managed to lose some weight and keep it off …at least till winter comes back around. For now, I will enjoy my slimmer looks. Along with the thinner lines I have been able to find some clothes in my closet that I can wear again without feeling like I have a boa constrictor around my middle. However, despite the new wardrobe, I discovered that there can be some drawbacks to losing weight. The other day I grabbed a pair…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  We are still working with Max; he has his good days and he has his bad days.  Of late he has been a bit more irritating. He does not want to take his medicine.  I know they tell you to pry his mouth open and throw the pill down his throat, but I prefer that he takes it voluntarily, and that it is done by hiding it inside a treat. I have been using peanut butter on a cracker. It is sticky and makes it harder to spit out…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. Max is  making a slow recovery from his Max Attack that happened a few weeks ago. He has his decent days (for a dog that is over 14 years old), and he has his bad days when he is a bit disoriented, and his ability to stay upright is a challenge. Since I live close to work, I can come home at lunch time to check on Max and make sure he is OK. I have a walk out basement, so he stays down there during the day. That…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  I got an offer in the mail the other day for another credit card.  Now, I already have four cards and this offering happened to be from a company I already have a card with.  However, this new card versus my old card would offer me a number of opportunities to earn more points on my purchases, so I gave them a call.  I went through the ritual…an automated voice asking me what I wanted to do, which took me to another automated voice asking for the last four…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  We had a bit of a scare over the weekend.  What Max? Okay, you are right it was not a small scare; it was a big scare.  I had to go to a wedding over the weekend, so I dropped Max off at the kennel that is run by my vet. What? Okay, right again, your vet but I still pay the bills. Anyway, I dropped him off on Thursday and made plans to pick him up on Monday.  I got a call from the kennel Monday morning telling…
