As I scrolled through Facebook on our rainy Saturday, I was very disturbed by a video that was posted. This video was taken in the Food Lion parking lot on Jefferson Davis Highway. What a glorious summer day we were given this Sunday. After weeks of intense heat, apocalyptic thunder storms and one dreary Saturday, Sunday showed up with brilliant blue skies, low humidity and a cool breeze. In a word, perfect. I spent the day getting reacquainted with my yard and my kitchen. The family and I have been blissfully lounging away the last week at the beach. As my family gears up for our annual pilgrimage to the beach, I am frightened to see these stories about the shark attacks occurring off of the Carolina coast. The two that occurred on Sunday are only 30 miles south of our little slice of heaven, Kure Beach.
