Mark and Kathy Rich of Chester stand in front of the church where Kathy’s grandparents were married in 1902 located in the village of Killeevan, Ireland. Mark and Kathy recently visited Ireland to meet several of Kathy’s cousins for the first time.
Bonnie Agnell traveled with the Chesterfield Twinning Association to Gravesend, Kent, England the week of March 19-25 to participate in the commemoration events to acknowledge the 400th anniversary of the death of Pocahontas. Gravesend is where Pocahantas is buried. There were multiple commemoration events over several days, including a procession through the streets of Gravesend to the church. The theme of the commemoration highlighted how after 400 years Pocahontas is still bringing the people of America and England together. The photo includes members of the Gravesham Town Twinning Association and members of the Chesterfield Twinning Association.
Dec. 9 was an exciting and proud day for the Louth family. They attended their grandson’s graduation for army training in Fort Benning, Ga. and the Village News traveled along. Pictured with Pvt. Michael Ethan Louth are his grandparents Ray and Joan Louth.
Vacationing in Avon and Cape Hatteras, N. C., with family last month, friends Kate Stanko, Jordan Clark, Brianna Brannon, and Madison Clark carried the Village News with them to tour the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras.
