Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation is seeking input on the master plan for Fairgrounds Park, located at the intersection of Krause and Courthouse roads. The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on the draft master plan from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the Community Development Building, meeting rooms A and B, 9800 Government Center Parkway. On Friday, Nov. 8, the organization’s founder, Travis Akins, and others hosted the program’s second graduation ceremony. Included were seven graduates of the 16-week program: Camari Cobb, Benjamin Cunningham, Richard Dabney, Robert Hopkins, Tavon Macklin, David Witt and Samantha Zschaber. The cadets participated in hands-on learning experiences with mentors from Chesterfield County departments including sheriff, fire and EMS, police and general services, and vocational counselors from the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services. Cartograf, a leading provider of packaging solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors, announced Oct. 23 that it will invest $65.3 million to establish its first folding and micro-corrugated package printing facility in the U.S. The 100-acre site will be located in the Meadowville Technology Park in Chesterfield County. Alexandra Wilson, a spokeswoman from The Keith Corp of Charlotte, N.C., said construction on a 315,000-square-foot building was set to begin the first week of November. On Oct. 4, county and company officials and others marked the addition of the company’s $4 million second phase, which includes manufacturing in a 45,000-square-foot facility at 8000 Whitepine Road. The company’s glass fiber pipe liner product is one of the most popular solutions for trenchless sewer rehabilitation throughout the world, a press release states.
