Members of the Chester Presbyterian Church want to feed the community, and starting Tuesday, Oct. 6 Grace Café will open its doors from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. serving single guests and families a good solid meal. RICHMOND—Virginia drivers’ odds of a collision with a deer are 1 in 97, compared to the national odds of 1 in 169. Those odds are more in Virginia drivers’ favor than in 2013, when they were 1 in 88. The deer migration and mating season runs from October through December, causing a dramatic increase in movement among Virginia’s deer population and resulting in more collisions on roadways, with the largest amount in November. The Virginia Cooperative Extension’s Urban Agriculture Symposium, a day of workshops and discussions about growing food in urban areas for personal use or for sale, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fairlington Community Center, located at 3308 S. Frink commits to Lynchburg Thomas Dale girls volleyball standout Sydney Frink, a senior, has committed to play at Lynchburg College. Frink has led the program for the past three seasons not only statistically, but in a leadership role as well. The Lady Knights have won four contests this year and picked up two victories this past week against Dinwiddie and Petersburg. Frink recorded 16 kills against the Generals and followed up with a nine kill, ten dig performance against the Crimson Wave.
