Detour planned on Old Hundred Road starting June 24

A traffic detour is scheduled to go into effect on Monday, June 24, along Old Hundred Road – between Ramblewood Drive and Old Stage Road – as part of the Old Bermuda Hundred Road Improvements Project. The detour will remain in place through the end of August. The detour is the first phase of the road construction on Old Bermuda Hundred Road to raise a dip near the Old Stage Road intersection. Road construction will continue with alternating lane closures until the scheduled completion of construction in June 2020. Motorists can expect delays when traveling this route and are encouraged…

New Harrowgate Elementary to get expanded gym

A $350,000 change order for construction of a new Harrowgate Elementary School was approved by the Chesterfield County School Board last week, with news that the building’s gymnasium will be expanded. The new Harrowgate School was to be identical to the new Enon Elementary School. However, the county requested that the gymnasiums at Harrowgate, Ettrick, Crestwood and Reams elementary schools be expanded. Elise Kopp, on left, and Branwyn McCormick are cast in ‘Frozen Jr,’ which the Chesterfield Children’s Theatre will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Elizabeth Davis Middle Auditorium, 601 Corvus Court. Frozen Jr. is based off of the award winning Disney cartoon and the new Broadway production with new songs and adventures added.
