On the move

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. I am a bit haggard now and in the middle of trying to move from one house to another about 10 minutes away. Things are complicated: the house I want to move into is currently occupied, and the bank closing is this coming Thursday. They have agreed to move one week after closing, and the family that has bought my house needs to move in two days after that deadline. So you can see that this is building to a very tense moment. My house is in complete disarray…

He also took an automotive class at Chesterfield Tech Center. As a Marine Reservist, he trained at Parris Island, S.C. “When I was in middle school, I wrote a play,” Fenner said. “I got paid $10 for it.” Song writing came later. Singing karaoke helped…

Conditions in Chesterfield women’s prison are terrible

Editor: I am writing to express my concern about the mistreatment of inmates in our prisons. While inhumane treatment is fairly common in many of our Virginia Department of Corrections prisons, possibly the worst female prison is Central Virginia Correctional Unit 13 located at 6900 Courthouse Road. I have heard numerous complaints from current inmates of the severely unsanitary conditions there. Below are a few examples: •The entire institution is extremely filthy and run-down, and it smells like urine and mildew. •There are many leaks in the building. Ceilings leak even when it is not raining – these are plumbing…

The club has already collected 40 pairs of shoes and will be collecting them through June. The club is asking for slightly-used shoes, including women’s, men’s, and children’s.
